Oh, no! You’ve got a job interview tomorrow and a nasty whitehead has found its way straight onto your face. If the only thing they focus on is that humongous zit, your hard work and preparation will all be in vain.
Unless you find a way to clear your face – fast!
The thing with pimples is that they usually take days to vanish. In most cases, you’d either have to try hiding them with concealer or other kinds of makeup, or suffer through days of people staring at your acne-riddled face.
If you’re anything like me, you’d wish for a quicker way to clear up your acne. Luckily, in this Mighty Patch review, you might discover exactly that. So keep reading to find out!
What is Mighty Patch?
Created by the NYC-based company Hero Cosmetics, Mighty Patch is a hydrocolloid acne sticker that absorbs liquid and pus from your pimples, all while leaving the skin completely unscathed.
The patch reduces the size of the pimple and also speeds up its healing process. Furthermore, it also covers up the zit and prevents you from accidentally picking or scratching the inflamed area.
Mighty Patch is manufactured in Korea and does not contain any drugs or chemicals. In fact, it’s an all natural, cruelty-free and vegan friendly skincare product. This makes it ideal for both nursing and pregnant women.
The adhesive on Mighty Patch will stick to all skin types and the patch is easy to peel off after use.
Mighty patch is available for both single blemish removal (Mighty Patch Original) and for acne clusters. (Mighty Patch Surface)
Mighty Patch Review – Clear Face Overnight
Typically, when you’re looking to get rid of acne, you’d prefer if it would happen, like, yesterday.
We both know that this is rather impossible. But could the alternative be an adhesive patch that slurps up all the pus from the pimples?
Short answer: Yes!
Customers are raving over these tiny patches manufactured by Hero Cosmetics, a beauty company based in New York City.
Allegedly, Mighty Patch drains and reduces the size of a pimple overnight. The recommended duration for having the patch on your skin is at least 6 hours. Even though, the longer is definitely the better.
Furthermore, if your skin tone is light or even pale, the patches are barely noticeable and may be worn during the day without attracting too much attention from people around you.
Some customers report that makeup can be worn on top of the patch, while others claim that it’s way too thick for even just a concealer.
Nevertheless, without makeup you can actually see the through the sticker, and the way it’s absorbing the bacterial fluids from the pimple. In my opinion, that’s just too cool!
Also, the adhesive on Mighty Patch seems to be of a lot higher quality than alternative products. Ultimately, this leads to more bang for your buck, because you don’t have to discard of as many unusable patches.
How Mighty Patch Works
As you know, the Mighty Patch is a hydrocolloid acne patch. The way hydrocolloid works is that it absorbs fluid from a wound and then encases it in a white-like gel.
The fluid in a white headed pimple consists mainly of bacteria, dead skin and white blood cells. It’s also these cells that make the zit turn white. And white zits are what Mighty Patch works best against.
You see, when you can start spotting what’s actually inside your pimple (gross, I know), that’s when all the pus is at the very surface of your skin. It makes it an ideal condition for the patch to work optimally, because it doesn’t have to “pull” all the fluids through all the layers of your skin, giving it a better chance to absorb all the content and ensure that the zit never returns.
Don’t get me wrong; the patches do work even on the worst kinds of acne, like cystic acne. This has also been reported by several customers. However, my point is that the most optimal conditions to drain a zit is when it’s turned white. The only kind of acne it definitely doesn’t work on are blackheads.
While it’s not recommended, you can prick the pimple with a sterilized needle before applying the Mighty Patch, giving it an even bigger chance to pull the pus out of it. Also, using multiple patches on the same spot continually might be necessary for big pimples to ensure that they are completely drained and never return again.
Before applying any hydrocolloid patch, such as Mighty Patch, you should always wash the body part you wish to clear up. This is necessary mainly because of two reasons:
- To ensure that there is no dirt or bacteria stuck underneath the patch.
- To make the patch properly stick onto the skin.
- Effective. You may get rid of a pimple overnight. Of course, it’s all depending on how severe your acne is, but Mighty Patch works impressively fast.
- Strong adhesive. The Mighty Patch seems to stick way better than its counterparts. It’s not difficult to tear off after use, but it’s still strong enough to stick to the skin for the entire session.
- All natural and vegan-friendly. A product that’s both effective and takes responsibility? Mighty Patch is a cruelty-free product that can be used by both pregnant and nursing women.
- Available in various sizes. Either use a single spot patch for that one annoying zit, or use a surface patch for a whole cluster of them.
- Too thick for makeup. Some customers are having problems applying concealer and other kinds of makeup in an attempt to hide the patch. Despite their efforts, the patch is still showing through.
- Does not work on blackheads. As wonderful as this product is, it’s got its flaws. Unfortunately, one of those flaws is that Mighty Patch cannot be used to rid your face of blackheads.
What is Better Than Mighty Patch?
Before I say something else, let me put this out there; Mighty Patch is an awesome product! It’s fast acting, environmentally friendly and sturdy.
However, many customers experience problems with the thickness of the patch. They feel that despite applying a concealer or other various makeup, the patch is still quite noticeable.
There is another variant of Mighty Patch called Invisible+. It’s made with tapered edges to hopefully conquer this problem. However, I cannot give you any insight into whether this is true, as I haven’t tested it out – yet.
So, if you’ve gone into full-blown panic mode and feel like you absolutely need to rid your acne overnight, Mighty Patch may definitely be the godsend you’ve been praying for.
Just apply it onto the affected area and let it do its magic; namely pulling all the pus out of the zit(s). As a bonus, it protects the inflamed area from picking and scratching, while speeding up the healing process.
Being cruelty-free and all natural makes it a perfect product for pregnant and nursing women. Containing no animal products, it’s also quite a suiting patch for vegans.
All in all, it’s a product of very high quality.
However, if you intend to use it in your face, a better alternative would be to try the Mighty Patch Invisible+ patch instead. Due to its tapered edges, it’s giving you a better possibility of covering it up with makeup or a concealer.
I can do nothing else but recommend Mighty Patch if you need a quick way to get rid of a pimple. In fact, you’d be smart having a box of these stowed away at home for emergencies.
Just in case.
